Kathleen (Kat) Clark
Elected

I have a keen passion to be involved within my community. I have been on the events committee for 7 years, since my eldest (Amelia) was at school, and have been leading it for the last few years. As part of the committee, and lead of the gala, I have been head of the team which has raised significant funds for the school - funds which have assisted with the development of school projects such as the turf, new kitchen in hall, heat pumps, curtains, new technology and much more. It gives me pleasure to be able to support Greenacres school with the amazing work they do to provide an environment in which our children can flourish. I am proactive and energetic with a desire to commit my efforts to assist the school in its continued success. I live locally with my husband Mike, daughter Amelia (Tawa Intermediate), and son Jack (Te Rito) and operate my own business sourcing and selling spray-free fruit and vegetables from Hawke’s Bay. I love spending time with my family and am actively involved in both my children's activities. Recently my daughter and I took part in the Porirua Grand Traverse. I have coached hockey at school over the years and am currently coaching my nieces netball team at the intermediate. Prior to having my kids I worked at Kimi Ora School which is a school for special needs and severe disabilities as a therapy assistant. I loved seeing what a difference we made to each student and their families, and I continue to follow how these families are coping. I believe I have many skills to offer the community of Greenacres, including administrative, and entrepreneurial, as well as a drive for success.

Kia Ora!

I'm Sharyn Richardson, proud mum to Natalya in Room 7 and ex-Greenacres students Levi & Jade, who are both at Tawa Intermediate. I'm married to Mark, who is born & bred Tawa! Our family has been associated with Greenacres School for the past 8 years and have thoroughly loved our time at this fabulous little school.

Community really is at the heart of Greenacres, and over the past three years in my role as Chairperson of the Greenacres Board, I've enjoyed seeing the other side of school life. Lifting the lid on the "behind the scenes" work that goes on is a thoroughly rewarding experience. I've had the privilege of discussing how to get the best outcomes for your children, how to best spend our limited funds to ensure the absolute best experiences for current and future students, monitoring and questioning strategies that are put in place and providing strategic governance to our incredible leadership team. I've enjoyed watching our staff, children and wider community grow during this time.

In my day job, I lead a fabulous team of people in the Emergency Management software space. This experience has armed me with many useful transferable skills which have been invaluable in my role on the Board.

At the centre of all our decisions and discussions should always be: "what's the outcome for the children"? I encourage you all to get involved in your children's education in whatever way you are able to - your commitment will pay off!

It would be my absolute pleasure to continue serving you and our school community on the Board of Trustees for a second term. I look forward to seeing where the next few years takes us!

Garrick James Wood
Elected

My name is Garrick Wood and I am standing for Greenacres School Board.

I am married to Cate and have two children at Greenacres.

I have worked at Inland Revenue for 20 years, primarily leading and managing design teams.

I am continually impressed by Greenacres School and the way it provides for our children to reach their full potential.

This is my opportunity to serve the Greenacres whanau and community. It will be a privilege to represent parents on the Board of Trustees and help ensure we have the best learning environment for all our children.
